What size do I need? We describe capacity in cubic yards/metres and/or by the amount of plastic waste bags. Most people can visualize what 35 disposable black bags would look like if put together. But be realistic when you decide about how much waste what you want to dispose of, as getting two skips can be far more costly than one big one! Please note that ALL skips must be level loaded so they can be legally transported on the road. For a large waste collection, it might be worth considering one of a very large on site containers (please call for further information). If having a skip left on site is a problem we have our Grab & Tip Service where you simply create a pile of waste and we come and grab the waste into a vehicle. Where can the skips be placed? Most customers have their skip placed on their driveway/land but if this is not possible you can legally have the skip placed on the public highway/verge. Skips placed on a public road must have a pre-applied Highway Permit from the local Council Authority and must have the correct signage and lights. (The grass verge outside your house may not be owned by you and therefore you may need a permit.) Please allow two working days for a road permit to be granted. We can not deliver the skip before the permit has been granted. What access do I need to provide? All our vehicles delivering to your property are LGV's and normally very large, please make sure that there is sufficient access on to your property If you are unsure, please contact us. (Normally we need 7ft 6in clearance) What can I put in it? Skips are for general and inert waste only, no fridges, hazardous waste which does include paints, solvents, liquids or asbestos. If not sure please telephone us. Will my waste be recycled? Yes, all of our suppliers have been assessed and are all committed to recycling through there licensed waste transfer stations. We expect to see a minimum of 75% of your waste to be recycled. SKIPS SKIP HIRE SKIP SKIPSHOP.COM
